Notice and Info - 09/03/2023Starlite reported on the development of thermoplastic biomass friction material at “the 47th Analysis Exhibition and Lecture/Technical Presentations” organized by the Osaka Industrial Research Association.
“The 47th Analysis Exhibition and Lecture/Technical Presentations” was held at the Osaka Research Institute of Industrial Science and Technology by the Osaka Industrial Research and Association on February 22 2023, and Starlite presented a report on the “thermoplastic biomass friction and development material” to the members of the association.
(Report)
Starlite developed thermoplastic biomass friction material in 2022 and received the 72nd Industrial Technology Award from the Osaka Industrial Research Association. This material was developed for use in the “turning, moving and holding” non-energized actuation brakes installed on small cutting-edge collaborative robots and features excellent mass production capability and wear resistance as well as friction characteristics with low temperature dependence. In addition, the base resin is thermoplastic biomass(*), which reduces the use of fossil-based fuels and is recyclable, contributing to the reduction of environmental impact.
(*) Inedible biomass resin, biomass-based plastic ratio 25% MIN
We are committed to supplying products and services to bring society in a better direction with our advanced tribology technology.
