Industrial plastic helmets are consumables (estimated service life is three years) and are thermally recycled, emitting CO2 during incineration. In order to reduce environmental burden on the planet, Starlite developed a helmet called “pervio® BP” that uses plant-based biomass plastic for the main part of the helmet.

Characteristics of “pervio® BP”

  • Eco friendly, contributing to carbon neutral society

pervio® BP received the biomass plastic mark (BP mark) for the first time in the helmet industry. Compared to the conventional models, the amount of fossil resources used for the helmet can be suppressed.

  • Scratch-resistant and long lasting material

pervio® BP has excellent scratch-resistance compared to the conventional models (PC Resin) and users can maintain the helmet’s good appearance for a long time even in hard-working environments.

  • Product Feature

Compared to existing metal products, there are “two lightness” factors: the lightness of the product and back-drive torque. Additionally, lubrication and seals are not necessary because of its rust-resistant feature. There is room for improvement of accuracy, but it is possible to estimate torque on the joint and force from motor current even in a submerged environment. • Excellent ventilation

pervio® BP’s foam-less design ensures good ventilation and comfort without becoming stuffy. It is washable, and stains and odors can be easily removed.
