Exhibition Info - 31/10/2024Starlite introduced BARIAS, a coating technology that extends the life span of facilities and equipment, at Manufacturing World Osaka.
Starlite has established a track record of providing highly functional coatings that resist wear, impact, rust, and corrosion, and are lightweight for factory facilities, amusement parks, vessels, ports, etc. At the "Factory Facilities & Equipment Expo of Manufacturing World Osaka" held at INTEX OSAKA from October 2 to 4, we proposed solutions of "Highly durable pipe (inner coating)" and "Coating resistant to impact and corrosion".
1. Highly durable pipe (inner coating)
By applying Starlite's coating that improves wear resistance to the inner surface of a metal pipe*, the abrasion of the pipe itself can be prevented and the number of hours required for maintenance can also be greatly reduced.
* Suitable for pipes with inside diameters from φ150 to φ250 and lengths up to 5500 mm.
(Example)
Sandblasting (shot blasting) pipe can wear out after about a year from the powder being pumped through it, and the pipe itself can be damaged. However, in the blasting areas of a steel mill where Starlite's highly durable pipe is used, not only is there no peeling of the inner coating or abnormal wear after one year, but the pipe itself shows no wear at all. This means that we can expect to provide the highly durable pipes to the metalworking industry and dust collector manufacturers.
There is also a risk of toxic gas leaking out as the pipe itself where toxic gases such as hydrogen sulfide pass cools down, causing the condensed gas to oxidize inside and corrode the metal. As our highly durable pipe has an insulating effect, it is less likely to cause such dangerous phenomena to the human body.
2. Coating resistant to impact and corrosion
By covering an expanded polystyrene or cardboard with Starlite's impact and corrosion resistant coating, it can be made into a structure with high impact resistance. The coating has been used in the past for playground equipment that requires design and safety, and for marine structures such as vessels requiring corrosion and impact resistance.
Starlite aims to improve the harsh operating environments that have not been improved until now by applying our highly functional coating to achieve longer life spans and lighter weight for facilities and equipment.
