Notice and Info - 16/06/2025Kyushu University and Starlite presented research results on the "effects of solid lubricants filled in resin composite materials under high-temperature hydrogen gas environments" in joint names at the 25th International Conference on Wear of Materials and the 10th International Conference on Manufacturing, Machine Design and Tribology (ICMDT 2025).

Kyushu University and Starlite presented joint research results at the 25th International Conference on Wear of Materials hosted by Wear of Materials Inc. and the 10th International Conference on Manufacturing, Machine Design and Tribology (ICMDT 2025) hosted by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Our recent focus has been on solid lubricants filled in resin composite materials and we described their effects on friction and wear characteristics under hydrogen gas environments.

Starlite has been conducting joint research with Kyushu University on "tribological behavior under hydrogen gas environments" and utilizing the knowledge gained to develop seal rings for compressors. In recent years, hydrogen has become popular as a resource that can be used as energy without releasing CO2, and Starlite's seal rings are adopted in the ultra-high pressure hydrogen compressors used in hydrogen supply facilities (hydrogen stations).

Starlite continues to contribute to realizing a carbon neutral society while helping to achieve longer life spans and improve performance of seal rings for compressors using the results of this research.
